Are you the new sponsor of the senior sailing?
From television to reality: a story of connection
It all started in 2017, when MS de Jordaan was chosen for the popular television program "Geer & Goor Stevig Gebouwd. Gerard Joling and Gordon Heuckeroth, along with generous sponsors, ensured that our beautiful boat was made accessible to everyone - including elderly people in wheelchairs. But what started out as improving the toilet facilities grew into something much more beautiful: a mission to connect lonely elderly people with the water, with each other, with a lot of party fun, the Jordaan and with the warmth of human contact.
More than a boat trip: a warm embrace on the water.
"The elderly cruises with MS de Jordaan are to never forget," says Petra, who has been organizing these special days with heart and soul for years. And that is no empty slogan. What began as a collaboration with the National Elderly Fund has grown into an independent initiative straight from the heart.
Picture this: 70 senior citizens enjoying a three-hour cruise through Dutch waters together. The day begins with a delicious cup of coffee with (of course) pastries, followed by a warm bowl of soup and fresh sandwiches. Between meals, familiar songs from the old box sound, jokes and jokes are laughed at, and a fun music bingo provides recognition and nostalgia. An eggnog with whipped cream completes the day, while a singer provides the most beautiful songs, with recognition, at this festive gathering.
The power of a small gesture.
What makes these cruises so special is not only the program, but especially the warmth with which everything is organized. For many elderly people this is the outing of the year - a time when they feel part of a community again, where they can laugh, sing and enjoy each other's company.
Over the years, MS de Jordaan has collaborated with care facilities and elderly societies, always with the same thought in mind: no one should be lonely, and everyone deserves moments of pure joy.
Heart to heart: why sponsorship is so important.
After corona changed its partnership with the National Elderly Fund, MS de Jordaan decided to continue this valuable tradition with the help of sponsors. "Free elderly cruises I don't need," explains Petra, "but for a fair price that care institutions can afford." Currently, a senior citizens' cruise costs €29.75 per person - an amount carefully calculated to remain accessible to care institutions with limited budgets. Thanks to sponsors such as the Reggenborg Foundation and Orbis, these prices can be kept low. Inge from the Reggenborg Foundation has even gone along several times and brought skaters like Mats and Remco, who did their part to make these special days happen.
Imagine that your company can give 70 elderly people an unforgettable day.
With a sponsorship contribution of €2,500 per cruise, we can reduce the price to €25 per person. With €3,500 we can even sponsor bus transportation, so that mobility is no longer an obstacle for this vulnerable target group.
This is no ordinary sponsorship - this is investing in human connection, in fighting loneliness, and in creating moments of pure joy that seniors will cherish for months.
More than sponsorship: a story to be proud of!
As a sponsor of an elderly cruise, you not only get the gratitude of 70 elderly people, but also:
- Visibility with a broad audience that appreciates civic engagement
- A story that underscores your corporate values of care and connection
- The opportunity to involve employees in this worthwhile initiative
- Concrete impact: you know exactly how your contribution will be used
The call.
MS the Jordan seeks companies that, like them, believe in the power of connection and the value of our seniors. Companies that look beyond the numbers and invest in stories that matter.
