Funeral on the water

Every funeral is different, therefore every funeral has a different cost and we cannot give a quote in advance. When you tell us your personal wishes, we can give you a price indication.

When you choose a funeral on one of our ships, we discuss with you in advance how you envision the funeral. We tailor our service to your wishes. Would you like the funeral to include catering or not? Depending on your wishes, our experienced team will take care of the catering on board, ranging from a simple coffee table to an extensive lunch. And do you want to hold the entire farewell service on the ship or just part of it? We will discuss these and other options with you, so that the farewell meets all your wishes.

Our fleet consists of four luxurious and historic ships, each with its own character and history. Each ship is ideally suited for a funeral on the water. It depends on the number of people on the water during the funeral, which ship we recommend. With a capacity of up to 19 people, the Valentine is our smallest ship. Which makes it a very fine ship for an intimate funeral with a small party. Our salon boat the Soeverein can accommodate groups of up to 55 people. MS de Jordaan can accommodate up to 150 people. And the historic ship Prins van Oranje is suitable for groups of up to 500 people.

A funeral by boat is suitable for anyone who wants to say goodbye to a deceased loved one in a dignified and meaningful way. Or perhaps you find it a beautiful place for your own farewell. Therefore, a funeral on the water is suitable for everyone. But was the deceased fond of water? For example, did he or she often swim or could be found on the water by boat?
